Are you interested in developing your skills and the skills of the next generation to come? African Women Australia Inc. is looking for people to join our new inaugural Future on Fire Mentoring Program as mentors and mentees!
AWAU's mentoring program is dedicated to supporting African women across Australia in the career, wellbeing and social development. Our program provides tailored and community-centred mentoring support and networking opportunities to help our mentees achieve their professional goals and thrive into the future!
Mentoring is a powerful liberating and advancing tool that can support African women uniquely and open doors to expanded networks and transformative experiences. Emerging and established professionals are vital to co-building, co-creating, and co-shaping the communities and workplaces we live in. The Future On Fire Mentoring Program will connect emerging leaders and established leaders from across each state and territory, giving them skills, guidance and opportunities.
Expression of interest close on Friday 7th February 2025 11:59pm.
The participants in Future On Fire will grow in their confidence, self-awareness, clearer career direction, better communication skills, listening skills, feedback skills, more assertive communication, and enhanced management skills.
The mentoring program runs between March 2025 to November 2025. Mentees will have 6 mentoring sessions with their mentor, 1-hr minimum each (held at any time of their own choosing during these months). Additional optional activities will be made available to mentors and mentees between June and August 2025.
AWAU will host a variety of events throughout the year, including special guest development sessions, gathering circles, human rights training, and more! Mentors and mentees will also get an exclusive speaking opportunity at AWAU's Annual African Women's Retreat in November 2025.
